This morning my wife and I caught up with friends of ours whom we had not seen for a number of years. At our friends' suggestion, we met for coffee at the Cuttlefish Cafe at Manly. I had read the reviews on this site and was anticipating a less-than-exciting experience, but that could not have been further from the truth. Put shortly, contrary to the reviews I had read, all four of us found the service to be quick and courteous, the coffee hot and strong, and the food - Jaffa cake, avocado on toast, pancakes with bacon and maple syrup and scones with jam and cream - to be fresh, of the highest quality and, more importantly, delicious. The venue looks out over parkland adjacent to Moreton Bay and is generally a quiet, pleasant area. I have no knowledge of whether there has been a recent change of ownership which may account for our being extremely impressed with this little gem, but regardless of that, all four of us agree that we will be recommending Cuttlefish Cafe to our friends. Please try it; you won't be disappointed.
